Western Road, Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire

This tiny back garden was bare with a concrete hard standing onto which a low retaining dry stone wall had collapsed.

Babylon Design rebuilt the wall so that it appeared to be a dry stone wall, although it had been carefully mortared at the back to ensure it would not collapse again. A selection of shade loving shrubs and herbaceous plants were then planted once the ground had been dug over and rubbish and weeds removed. Finally, a layer of gravel was spread over the concrete to lighten the area and set off the dark stone wall.
